Tiffani has been in a relationship with yoga since 1998. Her practice has seen her through decades of transitions and has been a reliable mode for refuge, self connection and discovery. Tiffani has been inspired by the profound impact of her practice, the theoretical underpinnings of ancient yogic tradition, and by the research and science supporting the benefit of yoga to heal.
After receiving her yoga teacher certification (RYT 200 hr) several years ago, she specialized in trauma informed yoga therapy (TIYT, Trauma Sensitive Yoga West). She is in the process of completing her 500 hour RYT and certification in Trauma Centered Trauma Sensitive Yoga Therapy (TCTSY, Justice Resource Institute). She also has specific training in, and incorporates to her classes, trauma informed mindfulness and meditation (TSYW).
A trauma informed yoga class feels like a Hatha class and is suitable for everyBODY and everyone. During her classes, participants are invited to meet themselves where they are. Tiffani provides opportunity for participants to make choices during their practice, to notice sensations, to use the awareness of their felt sense to inform what they choose to do next. This approach fosters presence and offers, or restores, a sense of agency and empowerment. The intention of Tiffani’s yoga classes are to be supportive and nourishing.
Tiffani is a member of Yoga Alliance and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Visit Noble Roots Therapy to learn more about her work.
